Willys Flat Fender Jeep

Yeah... so when cheap Jeep stuff pops up.on Craigslist it may as well be a bug light for my mosquitoe brain.

So now I have what I can best identify to be a 46-49 Willys CJ2a frame with rear springs, axle and steering shaft/box. I got it thinking I'd have an offset Dana 44 but inspection once home shows it is a Dana 41 but could have 5.38 gears.

Not terribly rusted out compared to some, front frame horns to motor mounts are pretty shot but from there back is solid. My plan is to make use of my spare NT Dana 30 and cobble some obscure 4 cylinder drivetrain (samurai,Jeep 2.5,Kubota Diesel,2.3 Ford etc...). No clue on where to find a body cheap though.

Anyway thought I would come and outline my further sins against the Japanese Auto Gods I used to devote myself to.
If anyone has leads on parts let me know.

I have been trying to track down body parts locally and have a lead on an okayish 2A tub, unknown flat fenders, a 3A windshield or a 3A tub, fenders and grill with title but its a rougher tub. Unfortunately I am in need of the title as well as all the body pieces so we'll see how it works out.

I did learn that I have 2 15in wheels and 1 16in wheel, apparently the 15s were an option for the agricultural Jeeps to have more sidewall made by Kelsey Hayes.

Picked up a 79ish T18 trans and Dana 20 transfer case. Hope to track down a Dana 18 to swap internals into the 20 case. Trans is the 6.32 1st gear model and was much easier to find than a T98.

Still on the hunt to easily adaptable big 4cyl or diesel engine.

Making small progress as I can. Found a CJ3A or DJ3A body setup in Tennessee, I tried to buy just the fenders, grill, windshield and tailgate... but tub came free so yay another project.

The 2A/3A grill/fenders are identical or close enough and in okay shape, hood is pretty rough and it came with a DJ3A or CJ3B windshield frame that is 4.5" shorter than what a 2A or 3A would have been. Might section it and make it the taller or try to trade it for the correct one.
