Sorry about the extended time we were down last week. After a database backup and reinstalling the site I got it back up.

Hey Roy, If you have time could you measure your tie rod length.

    Thanks Jim

    Roy,

Lambert is dropping some paint off at your house sometime this week, I believe. I will tentatively plan on picking up the wheels this coming Sunday afternoon, if you are going to be around. Maybe around 2 p.m. or so.

If that doesn't work for you, we can work something else out.

    Thanks!

    Steve

  4. During that process (of slacking) I bought another rig (the Cherokee you mentioned), but it would never have been Buford...I knew that. Also, I got fairly lucky that I didn't lose $$ on that rig. I basically sold it for what I had in it...and that is nearly impossible to do with a trail rig.

I'm not telling you not to buy a rent-a-wheeler like I did, but it could turn out to be a waste of $$. Money that could be spent building what you really want to wheel--your TJ.

I doubt that you are interested, but if you were looking to get out of the house/garage this weekend, I'll offer you the passenger seat in Buford for the Barkcamp ride on Saturday.

Anyway, best of luck in getting the Jeep completed. Keep us posted!

    Roy
  5. Hi Tony. I put it for sale last April & it sold in less than two days: http://www.ohio4x4.com/forum/showthr...&daysprune=365

I figured when you started the TJ project that your time frame was kinda optimistic. I say that from experience. For years, I always chose to band-aid Buford and keep it wheeling because I'd observed so many people disassemble a good rig to "make it better", and never get it put back together. I thought I'd never do that....but when the time came that Buford needed major work (new cab, nose, etc) my junk was down from mid November 2008 to July 2009. That operation could have been completed in a weekend, but it wasn't.

***See next post...this reply exceeds the 1000 character limit...sorry..***

Roy, whatever happened to the Cherokee after busting out the window? I may be looking for a daily driver that can do double duty as off road warrior. My TJ project is taking too much time.
    Regards,
    Tony

Roy I know this sounds dumb. How do I know my locker is engaged without taking it outside of the barn. I know to jack it up an spin the wheels but I can't remember how it is supposed to act locked and unlocked.
