    sounds like tire noise when you let off the throttle. I put the rear up on jack stands and had the wife take it up to about 50 mph and then let off...

    Rear end is going out on my truck (making noise). I figured it might be cheaper to just replace the whole axle assembly than put new bearings etc....

    Nope. Still need to have seals and bearings replaced in front end and buy a new driveshaft. Need to buy tires too.

1975 Chevy 350. Vortec Heads, Erson RV 15H cam, Edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 600cfm carb, Blackjack headers, Accel ignition. About 320 hp and 380 ft/lbs of torque.
Transmission / Transfer Case:
Jeep: Ford T-18 with 6.32 first gear, dana 20 twin stick.
Front axle (gears, locker/posi, etc.):
Wagoneer dana 44 cut down to scout length. Aussie Locker.
Rear axle (gears, locker/posi, etc.):
1972 Scout Dana 44 with a spool
Suspension (lift, shocks, etc.):
Triangulated 4 link with coils rear, spring over front
Tires and Wheels (size, make, etc.):
37x13x15 Super Swamper BOGGERS on Eagle Alloy 055 aluninum wheels
Mile Marker 9000 Hydraulic- slow, but powerful
Other stuff:
Full fiberglass body with 1-piece front hood. 6 point roll cage.
I seem to be obsessed with old jeeps and GM products
